New to the vacation rental market for 2008 and
strategically located almost in the center of Cape Cod, a modern three bedroom, two full bath nature lover's
delight awaits you and your family.........

The
Pond House is a three season home. The rear of the house is wrapped around by a 600 square foot deck with an adjoining red
brick patio. Also, there is a balcony off the second floor master bedroom where you can read the morning paper before
breakfast or enjoy a drink before dinner. Here, you can listen to the sounds of the many birds, including heron which
make this pond their home. Feel free to have your morning breakfast on the deck where you can view the pond with its many
colorful birds. In the evening enjoy your favorite drink before using our gas barbeque grill to cook your meal while
listening to the other creatures of the pond and watching the sun set over the Cape. In the spring or the fall enjoy
a wood burning fire in the floor to ceiling fireplace in the living room. There is private parking for 3 cars. We hope
you will enjoy this home as much as we do when we move in for the quiet winter months. Now onto the beaches...
The Beaches- Town of
Barnstable beaches are excellent. We provide a resident pass to all beaches so you will not have to pay parking
and you will be admitted to all the beaches. Here are our suggestions:
1) Dowses Beach - in Osterville.
About 20 minutes from the Pond House. This beach is a "10". It's clean, you can swim here and
the sand is nice. It's salt water and on Nantucket Sound, so the waves are really not big at all. Perfect for
kids. The toilet and bathhouse facilities are ultra clean. It's located in a residential area with beautiful
homes. The beach has a guard shack and a large parking area. It is only open to Town of Barnstable residents,
so your permit will admit you with no problems. The kids can also observe lots of nature in the abutting marsh areas. And,
the most important fact, other than a life guard on duty, is that the ice cream truck visits here in the afternoon.
Listen for the music. Do stop in at Fancy's Market in Osterville after the beach. They have upscale items
and freshly baked breads and salads.
2) Craigville Beach- Same as above. Large beach. No
real marsh area to view the critters. Only 15 minutes from the Pond House. The beach is open to Town and visitors.
Stop in at "Four Seas" for the best ice cream in the world (even Jackie Kennedy thought so) on your way
back and the old country store (great selection of penny candy) a block away.
3) Wequaquet Beach - 8 minutes.
About 1/2 mile the way the crow flys. However, it's a two mile drive. This is a fresh water beach on a very large
lake. Clean facilities and life guards also. This beach is best for small kids. Please note,
this beach usually closes in mid August. So plan on going before August 15th...
